This post made me so angry for what you went through!!!!! You should take your story to the news!! I live in Calgary and was going to go to the salon here but I will absolutely NOT be doing that. Oh you should report them to the better business bureau too!!! So sorry for your experience; no one deserves to be treated that way,

You should have talked to the Walmart store manager. Although they are a different company they do lease the space from Walmart and the Walmart manager would have spoken to the Regal Nails manager and enforced a solution. Walmart is still responsible for all businesses under their roof even if it is a lessee…….

Thanks Brian for your comment. According to Darcey, she did speak with the Walmart manager but was told that this is a Regal Nails matter and Walmart will not intervene.

Send an email to cacustrel@wal-mart.com or telephone them at 1-800-328-0402. Also you can write to: Walmart Canada, 1940 Argentia Rd.
Mississauga, Ontario L5N 1P9, Canada Attn: David Cheesewright. The store manager should not have brushed it off. Walmart is responsible for all lessee’s under their roof also!

I don’t think anything is being blown out of per portion! If the debit machine is not working they should have had a sign stating so!! Whether they speak English or not to stand behind smirking while the manager is “dealing” with the issue is just plain rude! I have been to this salon before and honestly they SUCK!!! They can’t follow simple instructions and their facility is unsanitary!! I commend this women for not punching buddy in his ugly face ….she handled things much better then I would have!! Did you know that getting wax in your eyes could actually blind you??…

I also use this salon ALL the time. I have my nails done and facial waxing including eyebrows. I have been a biweekly customer since they have opened and have always been treated well. They are extremely friendly, and work all day sometimes without breaks in order to provide service to all customers.

The owner did what he could to rectify the situation by firing the lady who made the mistake. She was also a family member and did not speak very good english and that is why someone may have thought she was smirking…..she did not understand. Yes this was the owners poor judgement but he did let her go due to this.

I will continue to go to this salon and enjoy the wonderful treatment I receive there.

Things happen I guess and are usually not as big a deal as the poster likes to make out, and yup the debit not working must be the fault of the people working there.
because it never happens that a stores debit is out of order, and its not always in house where the problem lies. There could be a problem in the payment network somewhere that is out of their control. I once had a guest check out of our hotel in the middle of a power outage. I told him a really bad car accident occurred just blocks from the hotel only 1/2 an hour ago and a car knocked the pole down and power is out for several blocks, but I can email, fax or mail you a receipt once the power is back up. His response, no i’m leaving now and want a bill right now I don’t care about no stupid power outage. He finally gave me his email address so we could send a bill to him and then left in a huff. Its one of those things where something gets all blown out of proportion. He got his bill emailed to him just like I promised within about 2 hours, so he’s going to go to all his friends and colleagues and tell them what bad customer service he received, like a car hitting the power pole was something I had control over.

Yes just today I saw things that should HAVE been done. I was watching ladies leave after there pedicure (as i was sitting there getting my own pedicure). After each of the ladies left there chair all the employee did was rinse out the foot baths. No disinfecting at all. this happened after three ladies left. then after I was off the chair the same thing happened. then I was getting my nails done and all they did was rinse out my foot bath. One lady next to me had a towel on her legs because she was cold. After she left the fellow took it folded it up and returned to the cleaned linen cupboard. I wish that I was a state inspector at the time I would of sited them on a couple of things. I will not go in there again knowing that they do not disnfect there foot tubs. I spsent $50 bucks there today. I better not get any infection on my feet.

This is a common thing for the Regal nails appearently because I worked there for about 2 weeks and quit because of how disgusting this place is..They NEVER sanitize there tools that they use on ppls feet! I have watched them use tools on ppl with a foot infection ( which by the way were not even suppose to work on ppl with an infection or any type of fungus but they do..also not suppose to use the razor but they do and don’t change out the blade for each new customer) but they will take the tools they have just used on a women with a severe foot fungus and then take them in the back not do anything with them not even rinse them grab a new towel and head back in to do another customer!!It’s true what u said about the foot baths too! I would NEVER go to a place like this to get anything done! I was even instructed to tell someone they needed a wax even though I felt like they didnt need one because it was more money for them! these places disgust me!

This in reply to the above treatment I’ve had with the similar problem with Regal nails in Okotoks though.
This past Monday I went to Regal nails and spa to get my eyebrow waxed and after I do my eyebrows she insists that I try their full face waxing and so I gave in and then she puts this piping hot wax just under my eyes beside my nose ( where there is no hair) that gave me a 1 degree burn on my face!!
I had to go to emergency to have it looked at and the doctor told me that It will take time to heal but in the mean time I have to suffer the inconvenience and embarrassment of it all!!!
I am so mad right now. I since then went back and got my money back which was the least of the problem and I am going to fight tooth and nail to have them compensate for the this inconvenience this has caused me. I have reported this to the BBB and they are aware of this incident.

Today I was at the Regal Nails in Camrose, Alberta Dec. 8, 2012 for nails. I have my own nails and wanted the white built up on them with a gel overlay. I supplies my own diamond stones. I was quoted lastnight at $ 42.00- $ 50.00 on the telephone. To my surprise they soaked me $ 73.50. So not happy . Evert time I go there I don’t get what I want and get soaked big,,, I ended up with 5 tips i didn’t ask for. I paid it not happy, left told my husband went back to speak to someone who could speak english i said it quietly as the place was busy. I barely got a word in edge wise and she started yelling at me. The entire staff, customers and people walking into Wallmart were starring. Where did Regal nails start? Who manages these salons? As well while i got my nails done after waiting for over a half an hour my appointment being at 11:30 am.I noticed nail treatments, pedicures and no sanitation of equipment or nail drummels used from one person to the next.. I will being taking my complaint to the Wallmart Manager, head office, better business bureau, City of Camrose business licenses and maybe the ITV trouble shooter. Enough is enough. There was no reason for the staff after they took my money to yell and be ignorant to me. As well when I am paying an extra $ 5.00 for putting on my own stones at least do it as I ask you to. If someone knows who manages these salons or know how to get in touch with their head office please contact me or post online please.

This is my experience at Regal Nails in the Medicine Hat Mall at Walmart. Before my trying Regal Nails I had used Collen for my pedicures. Colleen moved and it took a couple of years to track her down. She is now at Bratt Pak. In the interm..on a whim..while shopping at Walmart, I stopped into Regal and had my nails done..they did a great job. I saw the chairs there and soon I was enjoying pediciures there as well. well for 6months anyway..just long enough for then to totally screw up my feet. I had never had ingrown toenails before..I went to my Doctor and my Doctor explained it was because the had not been cut correctly(several times and they just kept making them worse) and that is what is causing them to grow in and that is what is causing the INFECTION. We tried to grow the toes out and for almost 4 mounths I was on Antibiotics, 6 weeks of it by IV so I did not loose my toes. I ended up seeing a foot specialist in Calgary where they removed my big toe nails. Talk about pain. Nails are almost grown back..but I sure learned a lesson..So go ahead and take your chances. All this is documented on my medical records. Deb

I do not think that it was just the waxing… altough that is horriblle I beleieve it is about having to pay more then the cost of the waxing. Making another purchase or using the ATM increaes the cost and to be treated that way is horrible. What great customer service… NOT. SHAME ON THEM AND SHAME ON WALMART!!!

The first thing I would have done was to visit the local Emergency Department to have the wax removed from the corner of my eye and lashes!
Once that was done and the circumstances of how it happened, all explained to a Nurse or Doctor… the Health Department would have been involved right away! An inspection would have been done without notice and fines levied!
So my question is whey wasn’t medical treatment obtained?

WTF Tony, you are an ASS. I’m so glad people are finally seeing that these ‘salons’ are not real salons. These dirty little places are gross, and dont care about peoples health or safety – only pocketing an extra 5$ or getting another person in the chair 5 minutes sooner. It is NOT worth it! Go someplace respectable, spend a few extra dollars, and know that you arent going to get an infection, get ripped off, or get THREATENED by the manager!

The whole issue of having to go buy something from Walmart in order to pay is ludicrous. Shame shame. People should have more pride in their businesses.

I hope you get what you preach as i think it is all a big lie, where is the pictures and medical evidence on the burns, did you seek medical attention, where is the report and the pictures nothing, So before you try to destroy a good family take a good look at yourself first.
